While the focus is on soil blocking, the seed-starting principles we cover apply to any method. At Moon Creek Farm, we love soil blocks because they let us grow thousands of seedlings in a compact space — and during the workshop, we’ll share even more benefits of this efficient technique.

Our farm sits nestled along the banks of Moon Creek, where the mountains meet the valley and the soil tells stories. Here in Kellogg, Idaho, we cultivate vibrant cut flowers using sustainable practices that nurture the earth and support native pollinators. With each season, our blooms add color to the landscape and meaning to our mission — creating a haven where nature, history, and hope intertwine.
Moon Creek winds through our land, carrying with it a legacy of resilience. Once overshadowed by the mining boom that shaped Silver Valley, the creek began its renewal through a major restoration effort that breathed life back into the landscape. Since then, the water has run clearer, the soil richer, and the story deeper.
As stewards of this land, we take pride in continuing that healing. Every seed we sow, every flower we gather, is part of the ongoing transformation — a way of honoring the past while growing toward a brighter, more sustainable future.
